Adopting a child is a very special event. We are happy to share this experience with you and your new child. Whether you are currently in the process of adopting or have already completed the adoption process, we are here for you.
There are many medical and developmental areas that need to be addressed. This will depend on whether you adopt a child through international or domestic avenues. Usually, if a child is adopted in the United States, many of the standard tests and immunizations have been completed and there are records of this. In cases of international adoption, this is more likely not the case.
As your pediatrician, we can guide you through the necessary medical tests, developmental screenings and immunizations in order to ensure your child's optimal health.
In some situations, you may receive medical documentation or information regarding your child before you adopt. We are happy to review the information and counsel you on how to interpret it. Feel free to contact us at anytime.
This is an exciting and busy time for your family. We are here to help in making the medical aspect easier for you.
